Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Winters Davis

After 30 yrs of solid work travel in project management, always staying with the Marriott family brand, this is the cleanest, nicest, best-organized hotel at this brand level I’ve ever stayed in. The breakfast person must have OCD, everything is so neat and clean. Reward your awesome staff.

Avoid room 122 if you don’t want to wake up at 5:30am. I arrived around 11:00 p.m. looking for a room for one night on a road trip. The staff friend was friendly, and the hotel seemed quite new and comfortable. But 122 is right beside the kitchen. From about 5:30 to 7:00 am, there was pretty constant clinking, like pots and pans in the metal sink. The bed is against that wall too.

There aren’t many hotels around this area, so they can charge more. Supply and demand. The rooms are okay and clean, nothing special, but breakfast is free. Highly recommend overall.

The common areas were the one big downside for me. They pump some kind of scent through them, and it was absolutely nauseating. Every time I stepped off the elevator on the room floors, I got hit with a heavy spray that gave me a headache. It didn’t reach the rooms, thankfully, or I’m not sure we could have stayed. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were attentive, kind, and thoughtful. I was thoroughly impressed by the customer service, and we had a lovely time largely because of the wonderful staff. I would’ve rated it five stars without the scent issue.
