We especially appreciated that the linens were washed with fragrance-free detergent. The room was very clean, and having breakfast included was nice. Management was friendly and accommodating, and the lodge is well placed for visiting the area’s many interesting attractions. You can hear some traffic, but with the windows closed it wasn’t a problem. We were very pleased with our stay and look forward to coming back. That says it all.

Pretty wood cabins with a walk around the back, lovely in the daytime and great for star gazing. Everything was clean and there was plenty of hot water. Bump and Trish, the very pleasant couple running the place, were helpful too. I was taking a course at the Shelter Institute in November, just a six-minute drive away, which was very convenient. There’s a diner, supermarket, antique shop, pub, and restaurants all close by.

A great find for the second-to-last stay of my vacation. I stayed here last month while traveling from Portland back to Bangor. My cabin was very clean and looked recently renovated. There was also a laminated binder on the desk with the lodge’s history, nearby attractions, and other useful and interesting information. The owners were friendly, and the homemade breakfast selection was generous and delicious. They made me feel welcome. If I’m back in the area, I’ll try to make another stay here part of the plan.

We like this place and knew we wanted to stay here again when we came back to the area this year. It’s central to lots of activities, with a cozy, warm feel. Trish is a wonderful person, and the people are the nicest. The first time we stayed, we had to leave a day early and they refunded us for that extra day. The breakfast is awesome, and we enjoyed meeting the other guests. We’ll be back! Thanks again for a wonderful stay. Try the excellent Thai restaurant down the street!

It’s charming, full of history, and accommodating. Immaculate, probably the cleanest place I’ve seen, even after my infant crawled all over the floor. No dust on him! Breakfast was delicious. There’s no coffee maker in the room or utensils, so plan accordingly. I’d stay again.
