The lobby bar and castle-style details make the place feel special, and the staff were fantastic, especially at the pool and front desk. We were there during opening month, so the pool area was quiet enough for us to have a hot tub to ourselves, looking out at the castle walls and woods. The swim-up bar was worth trying, with pretty reasonable prices for a Dells resort. The water was only pool temperature, though, so after ordering drinks we moved to the other hot tubs instead of staying longer.

We had a really nice three-night stay. The rooms were clean, roomy, and had comfortable beds, and everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. Both indoor and outdoor pools were warm, with huge whirlpools. The pools are a bit small, but being able to use an outdoor one that weekend in the Dells was a real plus. Parking also went smoothly, even during the very busy car show weekend, and I appreciated the staff making sure there was space for guests. I didn't try the restaurant, though other guests said the food was delicious, so I'll check it out next time. It's a unique hotel with a little something for everyone. A couple of things weren't ideal: they hold a $100 security deposit per night, where I'm used to $100 per stay, and the AC/heater was a bit loud. Still, we'd come back.

The kids were really into the updated arcade. The dragon find game was fun but pretty difficult, even for my kids, who are over 11. The kiddie swim area was great, and the swim-up bar is handy from a mom's point of view. Food and drinks were good too. Just know the sound of kids playing echoes around, so this might not suit you if that bothers you. Our main problem was the room. The third-floor corner room got roasting hot, and my husband was miserable and cranky because we couldn't sleep comfortably. The resort gave us credits for the lack of rest, which was the right thing to do. I also had changed my preferred payment card the day before we arrived. Front desk staff reassured me more than three times that it would be used for the room charge, but they never ran it. I called and emailed, and couldn't get a straight answer until I was told, “No we can't,” because we'd checked out. It was frustrating to be told otherwise so many times. I'd make sure your payment method is settled before booking. Otherwise, it's a great place. I hope I can talk my husband into coming back.

We got a sneak preview before the grand opening, and the visit was amazing from the moment I pulled into the lot. There's a huge metal dragon at the entrance and a striking castle-like resort behind it. The place was spotless, with so much detail that it felt like it had been there for years. Our king room was spacious and comfortable. The waterpark was a lot of fun, with indoor and outdoor pools connected, plus a swim-up bar where you can sit in the water. A 5/5 stay for me, and I'm already looking forward to returning.

The room was lovely, and the new facility was clean. I liked the pool and bar area, including the tasty drinks at the indoor bar. But in summer, closing the pool and bar so early is disappointing. I also asked to switch rooms for a medical reason and wasn't accommodated. They assured me my current room would be fine. The arcade looked nice, but it shut early too, so we never got to try it.
