Indian Trail Motel

The pool was nice, and we could walk to downtown Dells. The room had the basics, but no bathtub, and the shower was so small that someone obese would struggle with it. The bed and pillows were extra firm, and the room smelled damp and musty all weekend, even with the windows open and air running. The coffee bar was basic, had only powdered creamer, and didn’t open until 8 AM, so we walked to a nearby gas station for better coffee. At $135 a night, it felt way overpriced. For the room quality and location, I’d say $80-90 a night would have been fair.

The whole neon sign is beautiful, and they turn it on for us when we ask. The original hotel is very old and has a neat history. We stay two nights whenever we drop our son off at the nearby Easter Seals camp. The indoor and outdoor pools are always warm and sparkling clean, and we love how clean the place is. The staff are friendly, and it’s a great value.

It looks just like the photos, straight out of the 1960s, with parking right outside your room. The room was old but clean, and the staff were very nice. The outdoor pool was clean too. I didn’t use the indoor one, though it looked clean. It’s about a 5-8 minute walk to the main part of the Dells strip, and the area seemed safe enough to walk at night. The age of the hotel kept the price in the range I wanted.

The room was clean, and it was quiet at night since the motel sits a little outside the noisy downtown and resort strip. Good prices, plus free passes to Noah's Ark. There are two pools to keep the kids busy.
