The queen bunk room in the main hotel was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was big and very clean. I’d definitely recommend the place, especially since it was cheap and well worth it in winter, though there’s nothing special about the hotel then. Check-in and checkout were quick and smooth, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Some reviews said the rooms were smaller than the pictures, but that wasn’t my experience. The bathtub creaked a bit and could get annoying. The walls are somewhat thin, so hallway noise carries, and the air conditioner was kind of loud.

The staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean and fine for a family or two couples. Hot Rocks restaurant is across the street. It’s in a great spot for nearby attractions during the busy summer season. The outdoor pools are seasonal and close as winter approaches, but there’s an indoor pool too.

Getting into the place with our infant and luggage was cramped. We had to squeeze through the front door, past the front desk and another door, then down a narrow hall to reach the room. The room was clean, though not white-glove clean, and neither large nor luxurious. The bed was sleepable, but the bunk beds didn’t feel very stable or kid-friendly. The bath was shallow, though it covered a 6’2” man’s legs, which was enough for us. The shower was a little short, so he had to bend down to get the sprayer working right. Pressure was fine, but the water heated up and cooled off very quickly. The staff weren’t exactly rude, but they weren’t kind either. I only met two front desk workers and saw three cleaners, but never talked with any of them. The cleaners seemed nicer based on the brief “excuse me, thank you, have a good day” exchange. The front desk people seemed like they didn’t like their jobs. More than twice, some not-so-kind characters or groups checked in, making me think this was more of a hookup hotel than a family place. The Dutch wrappers in the parking lot weren’t much of a family touch either. We may come back to try the tiny homes or cabins, since being packed in like sardines may just not suit our family. The arcade is only a couple of claw machines and a racing game in a small space kitty-corner to the front desk. The pool looked simple and clean, but we didn’t swim. Downtown was no more than three minutes away, which made walking Main Street in the cold an easier choice. They did respect our do-not-disturb sign and our request not to have cleaning during the stay. I also expected a freezer with the mini-fridge, but there wasn’t one, so I couldn’t use my breast pump for the trip and had to exclusively nurse, which we’d hoped to avoid. And there are no restaurants on site, so you have to walk or drive to them.

I’m disabled, and I booked this place for the hot tub. Both times it was so cold that we couldn’t even put our feet in. The shower in the room was hotter. I’m very upset and won’t stay here again. Don’t waste your time here in winter. The shower dispensers were empty on both of my stays, the TV remote didn’t work, closed captioning was stuck on, and there weren’t enough cups or coffee in the room for the weekend. I guess that’s what they mean by “you get what you pay for.”
