Best Western Plus New Englander

If you just need a quick, cheap stop, this place may work. The location was good and breakfast is offered, but I booked for school vacation because I was told the pool would be usable. Before booking, I called to check. On arrival the water was green, had algae and a film on top, and only one jet worked somewhat. The front desk insisted it was fine and offered no way to address my concern. The day after check-in, the pool closed and stayed closed through our third day. Chipped paint or repairs I could understand, but that water wasn’t usable, and I’m frustrated I relied on what I was told. Our room was dirty too. Both chairs had crusted, smeared messes on them, and there was visible water damage and mold on the walls and ceiling. The lobby microwave was dirty and smelled awful.

I’ve just checked in and already really like the place. The front desk woman was super nice and efficient, and having a busy restaurant and brewery attached is really convenient. The rooms feel modern and comfortable, with free breakfast, and I’d put the hotel on par with a Hampton or H Garden Inn. I used to be a devoted Hilton customer, but their rates went up about 33 percent this year.

The lobby has a kids’ corner with toys and a DVD player, plus a couple dozen movies. There are seats for kids and adults. Check-in was fast, friendly, and professional. The room started out a little chilly but warmed up quickly, which I prefer in fall to having the heat cranked up and needing to cool it down. The restroom was clean and nice, and neither it nor the room had any odd smells.

Getting to the property was easy, with I93 and I95 nearby, and Boston airport only about 20mins away. There was plenty of spacious parking. We booked rooms as well as a banquet hall for a large event. The hall is roomy, the furniture was set up according to our instructions, and staff were very obliging when we asked for changes. Raj and Deepak deserve a shout-out for excellent service and helping our team with the logistics. The rooms were large, clean, and fresh, and the lounge was pretty and comfortable. It was an excellent experience, and we’ll definitely return.
