The Islander Inn

The owners were attentive and offered help with any issues we ran into. Getting into the room with the code they sent for check-in was seamless, which I loved. Inside, it was newly updated and really cute, with a comfortable queen bed, a large bathroom, and a nice kitchenette. The amenities made it clear the owners care about their guests.

We stayed one night in the Jamaica room, and it was beautiful. The place and location are fantastic. The yard is well kept, with a sauna, grills, and fire pits, plus free firewood. They also gave us coupons for a nearby restaurant with delicious food.

We stayed last October 2024. The room itself was beautiful, with a king size bed, jacuzzi, and kitchenette, but the bathroom and jacuzzi were a real disappointment. Cleanliness matters a lot to us, especially with a young child, and I think any parent wants a clean, sanitized place. The jacuzzi was visibly dirty, and there was brown and black grime around the sink and shower that looked like it had been there forever. If guests are expected to clean the bathroom, shower, or any part of the room before using it, the price should at least be discounted or fair. This review is long overdue, but I wanted to share our experience.

The room was really cute, and the location was great, but it could use some TLC. A few outlets didn't work, and the fire detector had no batteries. We had some trouble getting help too: no one was in the office, so we texted housekeeping and got no reply at first. We followed up, and they eventually answered, but when we returned, not all of our requests had been handled. I'd give them another try and a fair chance.
