Super 8 by Wyndham Woods Cross/Salt Lake City North

Our first room smelled like smoke even though we'd paid for a non-smoking room. The front desk person was really nice and moved us, but the next room smelled like weed and smoke too. There was hair on the floors and tables, and we didn't even open the bed to check the sheets. We had only two pillows, and the room was freezing when we arrived. We ended up finding another hotel.

The only good thing about Motel 8 is how close it is to the freeway, just a minute's drive back to I-15. Everything else was a huge disappointment, and I won't stay here again. I'll tell my friends and family what happened. After driving for over 12 hours, I just wanted to get into bed and rest, but there were blonde hairs on the sheets. I hate hair, and finding it there made me not want to get under the covers. There were also small burned holes in the sheets and pillowcases, clearly cigarette burns, even though I'd requested a non-smoking room. The room looked very disappointing. The front desk person took about ten minutes to come help after I walked in. I don't know where they were or what they were doing, but by the time I got a room and tried to lie down, I hated it.

The woman at the front desk was friendly and prompt when I arrived at 3 am. That was the only good part. The steps were crumbling, there were discarded alcohol bottles, the room smelled, and some kind of debris covered the shower floor. The heater couldn't keep up even though it only got down to about 40 outside. It also looked like someone had tried to break the door down. I couldn't sleep all night and didn't feel safe. Disgusting, I don't recommend it.

Berto was working at check-in and was absolutely amazing. We made a mistake with our booking, and he patiently helped fix it and explained everything clearly. He really went above and beyond even though the mistake was ours. The rooms weren't the absolute worst, but they definitely need work and could be a lot better. Honestly, that was a bit of a letdown.
