Comfort Inn Woodstock Shenandoah

The price and location work for me, and the service is good. The bed is comfortable, but the hotel needs a serious cleaning. You can see the dirt on the bathroom doors, and the rugs look original. I really don't understand why hotels have rugs, they're gross 🤢. Some room updates, like new pictures, would help too. It's cheap, but I just wish it were clean.

We stayed one night in Woodstock on 10/20/25. The breakfast area was very clean, and the hotel is aged but satisfactory for the cost. The receptionist was very gracious, though she couldn't get our TV working. It showed “no signal,” and management apparently knows this happens often, since every room has cumbersome instructions for resetting the HDMI signal. The instructions didn't work for us, and the receptionist could only repeat them, having never tried the reset herself. I also tried calling the front desk from the room phone twice and only got a recording asking me to leave a message. Unsat. Cleanliness was a bigger concern. We had to view three rooms before finding one clean enough. The first had dog hair on the couch and a dirty toilet. In the second, there was food debris by the bed and bits on the couch and desk chair. See photos. The hotel needs much higher housekeeping standards. It’s okay for the price only if room cleaning improves and the current TV input service company is replaced. Next time I’ll stay at a better managed Comfort Inn elsewhere.

The bathroom needs work, starting with a vent fan. There was only one hook in the whole room, on the inside of the bathroom door, and travelers could use more. The view could have been great, but cobwebs and condensation got in the way. Staff were friendly enough, though the cleaners in the hallway woke us up in the morning.

We stopped here with the family to rest during our road trip down 81, and it worked well. Breakfast had a good range of cereal and pastries to take along, enough to keep us going until lunch without another stop.
