Decoys

Our waitress was in charge of the dinner party last night and took care of everything. She was especially good at managing the food, drinks, and service. We had a wonderful time with the staff, who were friendlier than we expected. They were exceptionally friendly when we left.

On New Year’s Day we were seated right away, and the food was good. Kim was an amazing server. We shared the Crab deep, BBQ, and Mango Habenero wings as appetizers. Both were good, and the $1 wing night made it even better. It was the first visit for some in our party, and they said they’d be back. We were all happy with the food and service.

The drinks were delicious, and the hurricane was strong. We had a good time overall, so I’ll be back. I’d visited once with my girlfriends and enjoyed it, then returned for dinner with my husband. He liked every item. Once we were seated, service was fast. We got appetizers and entrees in about 15 minutes, and our server checked on us at the right times. The decoys platter was absolutely delicious, with tasty food at a good temperature and enough for two to share. We were half full after it. The pasta was great too, as was the risotto with the scallops. There were some issues. We gave the host our telephone number twice, but she got it wrong, so we waited outside in the cold for about 40 minutes before going in to ask what was going on. The crab cake was small for the price and overcooked, a bit burnt, though it still tasted great. The scallops were a little soft and needed more seasoning, but the tuna bites sauce brought their flavor up quite a bit.

The location and restaurant are beautiful, but I wouldn’t recommend it. The service was poor, and the seafood needs better recipes and chefs. The scallops were too salty, the risotto was almost tasteless, and the fried calamari was hard to eat. The whole plate was left, and everyone agreed it was difficult. We asked for lemons, but still couldn’t eat it. Of the four different plates, only the one person who got steak had a good meal.
