Staybridge Suites Waco South - Woodway by IHG

I enjoyed staying here. My room was spacious, tidy, and had the equipment I needed, and the complimentary breakfast was useful. The staff were pleasant and easy to deal with. The location also suited what I was there for.

Hannah, I think that was the name of the woman who checked me in, was really kind, which feels rare these days. Heather made breakfast and did a wonderful job. I especially loved the fruit and omelets, and there were plenty of other things I wanted to try but either ran out of time or was too full. After a couple of days at Staybridge, I’d say Heather and Hannah make it worth the money. Their kindness, generosity, and attention to detail are a big part of what makes Staybridge what it is.

The biggest problem started when I called the hotel to book. Without telling us, the call was routed to expedia, and we ended up with a major credit card issue. The hotel knows this can happen when calls aren’t answered quickly. When I called about it, the manager was extremely rude and said she didn’t care. Be careful about phoning the hotel to make a reservation. There were good points: the location was excellent and quiet, the beds were comfortable, breakfast was good, staff were courteous, and the room and shared areas were clean and fresh smelling. But our bathroom’s sliding door was very hard to move, the shower curtain let water onto the floor, the phone didn’t work, and the bathroom wallpaper was peeling around an obvious repair. Live TV choices were limited.

We travel often as a military family and this was one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had on the road. The food was hot, ready, and good quality overall, and the fresh fruit was especially nice. The woman serving breakfast was so sweet. We highly recommend it.
