Holiday Inn Resort Lumina on Wrightsville Beach by IHG

We should've booked a longer stay. The resort is beautiful, with great views from the rooms even when you're not on the ocean side, and the gym and indoor pool were well kept. Getting to the beach was easy, and I fell in love with the area.

The restaurant staff, Willie, travis, & Mike, were outstanding, and the food and drinks were delicious. Those were the highlights of a stay that had one thing go wrong after another: only one elevator was working, men came to clean the vents in my room without letting me know, and the resort was under a boil water advisory, which I know wasn't their fault. I may give it another try someday, but I'm unsure. I'll definitely be back to the restaurant, though.

Breakfast with the made-to-order omelet was nice, and the views around the hotel were amazing even though my room didn't face the ocean directly. The gym had enough for me: dumbbells, a cable machine, treadmills and bikes, with enough space that we weren't crowded. I also appreciated having a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. The location is great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They even went out of their way to get Wi-Fi working for my company laptop, though I ended up using my phone's hotspot.

I loved waking up to the ocean view from my room, and this morning's sunrise was spectacular. At Soltice, I ate there two nights in a row and really liked the food and the service from Meagen and Delaney. The William Hill CA cab went well with the beef rib, and the chard from Chili was a good match for the Caeser salad. There aren't many towel hooks in the BR, but I can live with that. Lumina is a classy resort, and I'll come back.
