The food was the one part that didn’t quite match the rest of the experience. The dining spaces and presentation looked thoughtfully done, but the flavors weren’t at the same level as the resort overall. I was there for a conference and found the stay memorable and luxurious. Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa is a beautiful property, with a lovely mix of nature and thoughtful design, lots of places to explore, and plenty of activities. The grounds and service both showed real care. I’d happily return or recommend it to someone looking for a premier resort.

Allison at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines made a lasting impression by helping our conference group add two guest reservations. She was kind, patient, professional, and quick to respond, and her help made a real difference. It’s clear she cares about giving people a positive experience. I’m very grateful for all she did. Thank you, Allison!

The service at the restaurants was uneven. Some servers were great, while others argued that I hadn’t ordered a drink and tried to squeeze my wife’s large salad into a small container, even though it didn’t fit. Ms. Sonya, the concierge, was wonderful. She checked in on us and always seemed to have the board game Sorry! ready when we wanted it. We had a fantastic time overall at Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort. Our kids are 15 and 20, a bit older than the resort’s main target age, but they still enjoyed themselves. Valet was terrific and charged our Tesla without any trouble. Check-in was easy, and our connecting rooms, one king and one with two queens for the kids, worked perfectly. The weather turned cold, with temperatures in the 30s after the first day, so we couldn’t spend as much time at the pool and lazy river. There was still lots to do. The game areas had pool, foosball, air hockey, and ping pong, and we had a blast biking the scenic trails. We also hiked along the southern edge of the park, saw deer everywhere, and visited the petting zoo with its longhorns, pigs, and alpacas. The UTV tour through the neighboring LCRA park was a highlight. Our guide, a biology major who clearly loved his job, taught us about the area, the Lost Pines ecosystem, and native plants like oyster reed. My son and I also had a lot of fun trying trap shooting. There’s no shortage of activities here, and we’d absolutely come back. It’s a beautiful place and a memorable family destination, especially for those with younger kids.

This was our fourth visit, and sadly it’ll be the last. The clean room was great and the staff were helpful, but a pile of issues made the $900 trip feel not worth it. The hotel waived the resort fee, which we appreciated. Bikes are our favorite part and a big reason we visit, but there weren’t enough, none with child seats, and they were all in poor shape. I called ahead this time and was told they’d be fully stocked. The shuffleboard has been without sand for about a year, and I noticed that on each of our last three stays. They were also out of vegan chocolate for s’mores both days, so my family couldn’t have any. At check-in they couldn’t validate the payment because of the vendor, not the hotel, and I spent an hour on the phone, missing the night hike and movie. The TV remote was broken, and the coffee maker wouldn’t heat, though they fixed that quickly. We were told parking cost 25 for the whole stay, not per day, and the new paid parking charge wasn’t listed when we booked. For what guests pay, the bikes need to be in better shape and fully stocked, and the shuffleboard should have sand.

We ended up booking two rooms at another hotel for Sunday night, even though we’d liked the look of this place on the drive in and planned to stay after a wedding. Opal’s comments and attitude put us off. We would have paid cash, too, but left feeling that guests using points were being treated like second-class customers. Before arriving, we’d told staff we wanted to leave welcome bags for wedding guests staying here, and they said it was fine. Then the front desk seemed uninterested and blamed a shift change for a misunderstanding. Opal said she’d call her manager, so we waited. When she returned, she said we needed a “master account” to charge the bill to. I asked if we could simply pay then, but she kept pushing back. We mentioned that other hotels had handled this without a fee. A “director” came over and tried to smooth things out, though he seemed unsure what was happening. Opal then pointed out that some of our guests had booked with points, as if that made them lesser guests. The director asked what we expected to pay for bag delivery, which made the pricing seem made up. After a lot of back and forth, we paid and left. We hadn’t even stayed, but the service was bad enough to make me write a review. Shockingly poor service for a place trying to present itself as an elite resort.
