Days Inn by Wyndham Yadkinville

The room itself was okay, nothing special, but my stay was a huge disappointment compared with a pleasant business visit here last year. I was in town for work because of the weather and paid far too much. My booking was for three nights, but I won't stay tonight or come back. My employer usually recommends this place, but they seem to be under new management and wouldn't honor the workplace discount. I'll tell my employer to send its business elsewhere. The booking page lists amenities that aren't available. At check-in I asked when breakfast started and was told 6 AM. At 6:30 there was no breakfast or employee, just a sign saying they'd gone to the bathroom. The hotel also claims to have a 24-hour front desk, but I rang the service bell and got no help, including during several problems overnight. I'll request a refund when someone actually comes to work. Another guest waited a long time, then left angry. They said the manager had been hateful whenever they needed help and wished me luck getting a refund. The hallways were colder than the outside temperatures, even with a winter storm forecast for the area. I posted this a second time because the first was deleted. If I could give zero stars, I would. I'd suggest one of the other hotels a short 10-15 minute drive down the road.

I was glad we ended up staying at another hotel. The room I changed in before a wedding was disgusting: despite being a non-smoking room, it stank of cigarettes, and the bathroom door was broken. The staff were extremely rude and seemed surprised that people were angry. Management was wildly unprofessional. They canceled rooms on the morning of the reservations because of construction that had already been going on for over a month. They didn't tell people until four hours before their reservations. My room was canceled out of the blue, so I had to rush over to change before the wedding. Zero out of ten.

We had three rooms, and every one had roaches and those little black boxes under the sink. When opened, the boxes had small bags and white powder inside. It was awful, so we ended up leaving.

The staff were polite and really helpful. The place smelled nice and was clean. The shower was a bit small, but I had a very good stay and was impressed.
