Ledgestone Suites Hotel Yakima

The room was very nice, but there was no ESPN on the TV. We checked in early so we could watch a game, and the front desk even told us ESPN was available. I stay in hotels about 50 nights a year, and ESPN is a basic channel everywhere else I've stayed.

It's been renovated recently, and there's a small kitchenette in each room, which is handy if you're staying several days. It was clean for the most part, and I had no issues.

The suites are great, with a den, kitchen, and two TVs. Staff were super nice, and there are huge hallways, luggage carts, and a great location. But I found a long gray hair on the bathroom sink and a huge dark one on the floor. I don't have gray hair, look at my hair. The kitchenette doesn't help much when there are no food options after 8 p.m. There's no complimentary continental breakfast either, even at $120-150 a night. Comfort Suites, Comfort Inn, Sleep Inn, Hampton, and Holiday all offer something, even just continental breakfast. The lobby has couches and wasted space that could be a breakfast area. There wasn't even a vending machine that we knew about. This is called 3 star, 3 diamond? I used to rate hotels for AAA, and this definitely isn't 3 diamond. For 2026, I'd suggest renovating and adding a dining option, or putting together a welcome basket for guests arriving after 8 p.m. with nonperishable food and a way to get milk, OJ, or a microwaveable breakfast sandwich. Just an idea. Update: turns out there are a bunch of vending machines in the laundry room, with cookies, drinks, snacks, pies, candy bars, ice cream, and deli sandwiches. Not one person, from the check-in woman to the young man working late to the morning staff, mentioned the vending room. Desk staff have to learn to read guests, sell the property, and provide proper guest service.

We found Yakima to be a handy base for exploring places around southern Washington State, and were pleasantly surprised by this centrally located hotel. Our room was quiet and well equipped, with a separate queen bedroom and a nicely stocked mini kitchen. It had two-top burners, a dishwasher, medium-sized fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, plates, and utensils. We didn't need to use them, but free laundry facilities were available too. Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful.
