The pool’s empty, though I don’t swim anyway. Beds are comfy, it’s clean, and the clerks are super nice. No complaints.

There are bugs in the rooms, they price gouge, and several basic safety things didn’t work. The in-room phones and smoke alarms were out, and the door locks didn’t work, so we had to ask the front desk to let us in every time we left. A motel should help guests feel safe, and this one didn’t. The front desk manager was rude and yelled at employees in front of guests. Management doesn’t seem to care about the guest experience. Jack, the housekeeper and maintenance man, treated guests with respect and made their stay better. He’s no longer there. He was treated badly, yelled at, and unjustly fired after six years. He did everything for management, even watching the manager’s son while working the front desk for little or no pay and no thank you. If you’re in Eastland, there are other hotels. I prefer the super 8, next to the Mexican restaurant La hacienda, which is a great place to eat and where they really look after guests. Thank you, Ms. Lindsay.

For the price, especially with nearby hotels costing more than twice as much, this was the best option and I slept great. My room had vinyl flooring, a big TV, and a fridge and toilet that worked. I didn’t run into bed bugs or rude staff. I’m giving it four stars because my stay wasn’t like some of the other reviews.

The showers get really hot, unlike in a lot of newer hotels. After a long day hauling oversized loads, that felt great. The staff are awesome and will drive you to local restaurants if you need a ride. Rooms are nice, with king beds for single occupancy and queens in the others.
