Ocean Mist Beach Hotel & Suites

We needed one night for a wedding with my daughter and grandchild, but couldn’t check in because my son-in-law had made the reservation and wasn’t with us. I had to use their public bathroom to shower, and it had no towel or shampoo, while the soap was on the far wall from the shower. We tried to check in early, and although they saw the reservation, they only said to wait until 4, with no further help. When we returned, they said we couldn’t check in at all. The manager wasn’t helpful. After about 1.5-2 hours, my son-in-law managed to sort it out. This is not the place to stay!

Everyone was a pleasure to work with during my family’s stay, and I had a wonderful time. We’re planning to come back soon.

We stayed at The Ocean Mist for 10+ nights and changed rooms so we could extend our visit at the last minute. Both rooms were clean and very comfortable. Housekeeping staff were so nice, and Clyanneke at the front desk was amazing: friendly, always smiling, and helpful in getting the extension sorted out despite the confusion. I really hope she’s there next season. Jeff was very friendly at checkout and gave me tips for local help for people with developmental disabilities. Frank was amazing too. After my mom told him about my autistic nonverbal son, they ended their conversation with a hug. He was welcoming, friendly, and professional, and I can’t thank him enough. The housekeeping manager was extremely rude. He acted like he owned the place and rushed my mom out five minutes after checkout while she was putting our bags in the hallway. I also wish there were a sign on the ice machines saying not to fill coolers. A couple of families emptied the only ice on the property into a huge cooler on wheels. They vacuumed the pool after it had opened, with kids swimming around the vacuum and tangled hoses. I thought it wasn’t open yet, but called the front desk and confirmed it had been open for a couple of hours, since 9am. Then the housekeeping manager came in and made everyone leave so he could take the vacuum out. That should be done before opening. The hot tub was relaxing for the first couple of nights, but the heat must have been turned down, because it wasn’t much warmer than the outdoor heated pool. These complaints don’t take away from the positives for me. This place is amazing!

The ocean views are beautiful, and the rooms are nice, but the bathroom could have been cleaner. We arrived early, at 3pm, and asked whether any rooms were ready. The front desk listed five, then said that if we moved to a lower room, we’d still pay the price for our balcony room. He didn’t seem interested in helping us get settled out of the rain. We left and came back at 4pm. I’ve usually had no trouble checking in early, especially off season, but we won’t give them our business again.
