The worst part of the night was the fight that started around midnight between a man and a woman in the next room, the hallway, and outside the hotel. There was banging and kicking on walls and doors, yelling, swearing, and more. I called the front desk twice around 2:30 a.m. for help, with no answer. At about 3:30, I went there myself, but nobody was at the desk. I recorded some of the noise on my phone. It finally stopped around 4, when the woman left and the man stopped shouting and kicking things. The room itself was in bad shape. There were ants and other bugs in the bathroom and room. The old, sagging beds made it hard to sleep and left my back sore; I'm 46 and already have ongoing back problems. Both beds and the desk chair were damaged, and some light fixtures were broken or had burned-out bulbs. At checkout around 8 a.m., a woman started yelling that I should shut the entrance door because it was cold and keep my dog on a leash. He was already leashed, but ran toward her when she approached me. She wouldn't help with a cart or dolly. When I tried to explain what had happened overnight and the room problems, she argued, yelled, laughed at me, and refused to get the manager, telling me to find the manager's contact details on Google. She threatened that I had to leave and couldn't record her. I recorded that interaction too. When I called the next day, Tuesday, Jan. 20th, and asked for the manager, the same woman hung up as soon as she realized why I was calling. I recorded that conversation as well. I was disgusted by how the staff treated me. The arrogant, scammy front desk woman charged $102.61 for a terrible night, instead of the $79.80 we had agreed on during the phone reservation and received in the email confirmation. I've filed a fraud chargeback, and Discover Bank has partially refunded the amount and is investigating the incident and unauthorized transaction.
