The staff were friendly, and the location is good if you need to be right in the city, but this was the worst stay. The room was disgusting, with cockroaches in the bathroom. We had to rest before driving home safely, but if we could have driven safely, we'd have left instead of staying. After this experience, I'll never set foot in another Red Roof.

The best thing about the Red Roof is its downtown York location. Our room needed a much better cleaning, and the walls looked like they hadn't been wiped down in years.

Big thanks and a thumbs-up to Mrs Amber at the front desk. I had a situation there and your staff treated me really well. I'll recommend the hotel in the future. God bless.

I've never stayed there or been inside, so I can only comment on the parking lot. It's almost impossible to turn around once you're in; getting back out takes something like a 12-point turnaround.

We had a nice room on the first floor, a pet-friendly kitchenette with a full kitchen sink, a two-burner stove, and a full-sized fridge. But people were outside the room all night, making my daughter's dog bark off and on, and I couldn't understand why that was allowed. We also couldn't get the TV working, even with my tech-savvy daughter trying. We weren't there to enjoy our time, so it didn't really matter in the end.
