Hornsby House Inn

The best part was the people we met at breakfast, including Mr. David Bowditch, who grew up in the house. You can feel how much love and care the old family home still holds. I honestly didn't want to leave, and we'll stay again when we're in the area, which we visit often. We spent two nights there in very cold weather and stayed warm, comfortable, and well cared for. Tom communicated clearly, answered all our questions, and cooked delicious breakfasts. Our room had lovely views of the monument and river, with a comfortable bed and linens. Coffee and cookies were available throughout the weekend. Before breakfast one morning, we had coffee by the fire in the living room. That evening we had friends over in the sunroom to watch ACC basketball, and it felt just like home.

The family rented the whole Hornsby House Inn for the weekend of my sister's wedding, and it worked out perfectly. Everyone found the rooms clean, cozy, and comfortable, and slept well. Breakfast was a major highlight, easily 10/10 and delicious each morning. Tom went above and beyond throughout the weekend. The staff were kind, helpful, and understanding when a few things went wrong, and they handled the hiccups with real care and professionalism. It made the celebration feel easy and special. This is a wonderful, underrated wedding venue, and I can't recommend the Hornsby House Inn enough for weddings or other special events.

The wine and cheese hour when we arrived was a lovely touch. This was our first time at a B&B, and we found it cozy, quaint, and welcoming. Traveling this way felt much more peaceful than a regular hotel. The bed and pillows were super comfortable, and breakfast was hands down the best we've had on a trip. We'll definitely be back!

The Inn sits above the York River among several historic sites, and the house has lots of comfortable spots to sit, read, talk, or relax. We had a wonderful anniversary stay and would recommend it. Lexi and Tom, who manage the inn, welcomed us warmly. The house felt like coming home after a long trip, and the other guests were just as welcoming. We loved the warm cookies left for us at night. In the morning, we shared a delicious family-style breakfast with everyone around the beautifully set dining room tables.
