We loved having dinner on the porch every night, and the grill worked well. The employees I spoke to by phone were friendly and gave me useful tips about groceries, bears, and other things. The condo was just what I’d hoped for, even with my high expectations. I brought my son to Yosemite for a college graduation trip, and he loved it too. He said, “I wish I could live here.” Hard to beat that review. For summer visitors, there’s no AC, and heat rises to the loft bedroom. We stayed in mid to late May, and the weather was gorgeous.

The Fiske Studio looked like it could be a cute, quiet place for two, with a cozy queen bed, kitchenette, and roomy bathroom. But after the first night of our four-night stay, we discovered an ant infestation. We kept food sealed and off the floor, took out the trash daily, and killed ants as we found them. They kept multiplying. By the end, they were in our suitcase among our clothes and in the bed. I woke at 3 a.m. with ants biting me, showered, and left right then. The mattress was very hard, the fridge was RV-sized, and getting luggage down the long, steep stairs was difficult. Yosemite Valley is a 35-40 minute drive away, and the place was very expensive. I wouldn’t stay again.
What you’re paying for is the scenic 35-minute drive to Yosemite Valley. The space is dated but clean, and I’d bring your own meals instead of relying on the kitchen. Keep your expectations low for an affordable lodging option, and you’ll be fine.
The apartment was better than the pictures, clean, and had a well-equipped kitchen. It’s in a nice location inside the park, about 20-30 minutes from the Valley. There are two full bathrooms, though the upstairs shower was unusable because water went everywhere. The bed was okay, but the middle was sinking even with the memory foam mattress. The walls are thin, but our neighbors were quiet, so it wasn’t an issue. I’d stay here again.
We found a bedbug on our second night. After sleeping in our car, Scenic Wonders initially offered a refund for one night only. I had to keep going back and forth with them to get a full refund. They refused to clean our exposed belongings, so we paid for that ourselves. The condos also seemed neglected since Scenic Wonders took over, and ours wasn’t very clean. This derailed the last couple of days of our trip. Avoid if possible. Edit: They’re gaming the reviews and somehow got mine deleted. This place is truly despicable.
