The Harmony House

The front desk clerk was one of the rudest I’ve ever encountered. She cursed me out, literally, for ringing the help bell, and called me all sorts of names when I wouldn’t keep standing there listening to her complain about hating her job and the guests getting on her nerves. The room door lock was off track, so I couldn’t get in until I used a card to unjam the door. There was no telephone in the room, the carpet was filthy, and the TV didn’t work right. It was freaking horrible. I wouldn’t come here even if I needed an emergency place for the night. Rude, raggedy, and unkept.

The bathroom spa and shower were wonderful, and the woman in the office worked hard to keep us and our neighbors happy. Those are the reasons for two stars instead of one. Our room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and the walls, floor, and doors were dirty. We could hear the neighbors both inside and outside our room, and we had to walk to the office to use a microwave. We were nervous about the neighborhood and couldn’t relax or sleep with that and the other problems. Although we’d paid for two nights, we went somewhere else and paid $20 more for a much better room and experience. I recommend paying the extra $20 and staying elsewhere.

Update: after spending over $4,000, they told us we couldn’t come back. They blamed my girlfriend and me for breaking a door and tried to charge us without knowing for sure. Poor customer service. I’ll never return as long as this place is running, and I hope the business fails. The lady in the office will give you a room free of charge for $20 stone. I’d been there for four days and thought my money was well spent. The rooms were nice, customer service was nice, and the place was clean overall. The price was very reasonable, and I was well satisfied with the visit.

The people you meet here are amazing, especially the night clerk, who’s the most awesome person I’ve met in years. The motel is slowly working on updating its rooms. You get what you pay for otherwise, but don’t blame the employees. They work with what they’re given. At least it’s clean and cheap.
