Super 8 by Wyndham Yreka

Parking right outside the room made it easy to unload and keep an eye on the car during our road trip, and check-in and checkout were hassle-free. It's an inexpensive, comfortable, clean stay for under $100, with quick access to the freeway. There's also a grocery store across the street, handy for picking up something to microwave for dinner. It's pet-friendly and has a small pet area with bags for cleanup. Breakfast runs from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. and is light, with a fresh waffle maker, juice, pastries, cereal, yogurt, and more.

We were pleasantly surprised by the friendly, responsive staff and how easy they made our late arrival, even after we had to change the time. The place was clean and a good deal, with easy access to the freeway. Breakfast was simple but adequate, with options like yogurt, boiled eggs, waffles, Danish, fruit, juice, and coffee. Housekeeping even left a nice note wishing us a pleasant stay. I'd recommend this hotel for a comfortable night's rest.

The floors were dirty, and when we pulled back the covers there was mud and dirt at the foot of the bed. The sheets clearly hadn't been changed after the previous guest. The manager brought another set and apologized, saying he'd have to check every room because housekeeping was slacking off. Isn't that his job? The replacement sheets smelled bad too, as if they were another dirty set. I would never stay here again. This place is a health hazard.

Easy location that seemed safe, and I'd stay here again. Check-in was simple, and the employee was super friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and well kept, everything worked, and the bed was comfortable. The shower had strong pressure, and, oddly enough, this is one of the first cheaper motels I've stayed at where the curtain rod hadn't been ripped out. Breakfast had a waffle maker, basic cold items, hard-boiled eggs, and juice.
