Americas Best Value Inn & Suites Joshua Tree National Park

We chose this place because the themed rooms seemed quirky, even though they looked old and dingy. I called ahead and confirmed a particular room with the owner, but when we arrived he said it wasn't available. He got defensive and insisted he couldn't have written down the wrong room, saying I must have asked for a different one. I'm Persian, and it was the Persian room, lol. He then canceled our stay and told me to contact Expedia for a refund. The place didn't look clean, and we were treated very poorly. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

My friend recommended this place after having great stays here, and I've been back several times now. I travel with my mom, who has disabilities, and the staff do a really good job accommodating her needs. It feels like a home away from home, so, as Arnold says, “I'll be back” 😎

The murals and plants give the place more character than a typical chain motel, and the hot tub was great. We weren't sure what to expect after seeing such mixed reviews, but found it to be good value. The rooms were clean, and I'd stay again if I were in the area.

Watch out for the late checkout option. I checked the box and paid $6 when booking, but was later told it was only a deposit. There wasn't another guest staying at the motel, so they didn't need my room, yet the owner argued with me about it. I've gotten free late checkout at plenty of nice hotels. This place would rather fight over $10 or $4, I'm not even sure what he wanted. I had proof I'd paid the fee with the room. Convenience doesn't make up for the rudeness. Go to the Spark instead!
