We were in Yuma visiting family, and the trip was going well until I realized I’d left two pairs of tennis shoes in room 277, between the end table and the chair. I called throughout the week, but nobody could confirm they’d been turned in. They said they checked the room, though housekeeping should have noticed them while cleaning. The older housekeeper spoke no English and seemed confused when we tried to speak with her in passing. Shoes don’t just disappear on their own. My aunt offered to drive over and pick them up, but after hearing what happened, we’re all disappointed with Best Western Hotel. I won’t stay there again, and I hope they take a closer look at housekeeping. My stay was Feb. 27-Mar. 2, 2926.

We paid $110 a night for a king room, and I’d come back. The place looks remodeled, the bed and pillows are really soft, and the front desk worker was very nice. Breakfast is included in the morning.

Breakfast was good, the hot tub was fine, and the staff were especially kind. I’d stayed here years ago with my husband for several weeks while he worked, and he liked it enough that it was his first pick for this trip. I called ahead to ask if the pool was heated and was told it was, but it felt like a polar plunge. The bigger concern was the mold and musty smell in several rooms. It looked like they were painting over the mold instead of removing it, and other guests mentioned the same telltale odor. I asked the manager to contact me, but never heard back. I’m very disappointed, especially if the property is under new ownership and maintenance is being neglected.

I was there for five days and liked the location and the rest of the employees, who were very nice. On my last day, though, a new woman at the front desk, not the other ladies I’d met before, was rude.

The breakfast staff made us feel welcome right away, greeting everyone with a big good morning and smiling the whole time. The breakfast itself was amazing. Staying at this Best Western was a good experience, and having stores nearby was handy. I’ll be back more often.
