Update: Omar, the GM, looked into what happened and called me. He explained things and offered us a paid night for our next trip through. I'm still not sure why the lot had so few cars, but we'll call ahead next time. Customer service isn't dead. Thanks, Omar! We'd stayed here a few times while traveling through and booked again on a booking site. We usually got a room facing the parking lot so we could keep an eye on our truck and its contents, and we knew the hotel had plenty of those rooms. At check-in we explained what we wanted, but the clerk gave us a key to an inside room. It was Tuesday and the lot looked no more than half full, yet the girl at the desk said they were booked. We gave up the cost and went to a hotel across the street instead. Early the next morning there were still barely any cars in the lot. The clerk hadn't been willing to make any effort, and they lost our business.

Check-in and checkout were quick and went really well, thanks to the very friendly staff. The rate was great, though the room could use an update. My two complaints were the shower spigot, which was hard to turn on, and the remote. It was user-unfriendly: hard to find the guide, and once I found it, there were no up, down, left, or right arrows for scrolling.

I had a bad check-in experience. The front desk wasn't there when I arrived, so I waited about 20 minutes. When someone finally came, there was no apology for keeping me waiting. The front desk agent also wasn't in uniform, which made it hard to tell who worked there, and was very rude to me. Hotel staff need more training in hospitality and professionalism. I'll never stay here again or recommend it to anyone traveling to Yuma.

I picked this place because the price was low, and I'd stay again. The room was decent and looks like it was remodeled fairly recently. The free breakfast is very limited, just waffles and two kinds of cold cereal. I had some trouble checking in, but the front desk employees were nice and worked with me. Parking was decent. The side entrance door slams really loudly, so you'll hear it whenever someone comes and goes if your room is nearby. It's close to the freeway, which means little traffic to deal with, but far enough away that you can't hear the road.
