Sunbridge Inn & Suites

I treat this place as my home away from home on my two-day trips. Manager Sarah is so friendly that our chats feel like catching up with someone I’ve known for years. The price is hard to beat, and the hometown hospitality is just as good. Give them a try, I’m sure you’ll come back.

We came from the Corpus Christi area to wait out the hurricane. The front desk woman was rude, and though things started off fine, the stay got worse. She called our room accusing us of taking clothes from a washer, but we hadn’t. Then she raised her voice at my daughter, called her extremely rude, and said this was a warning instead of calling the sheriff this time. She was upset about it, but in the end she had the wrong people. It was a woman from another room. After we left, she called to accuse us of taking chairs that weren’t even in our room, then called back to say it wasn’t us. She didn’t apologize. This was honestly the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at, and the only place I’ve had this kind of problem on vacation. I’d never recommend it.

Within an hour of checkout, the receptionist called to say we’d left behind a pair of earrings I’d just bought the day before. I’d never had a hotel call about something we forgot, and I really appreciated her honesty. I told her to keep them, but she insisted she could hold them for me or mail them since I’m from mcallen,tx. I told her again she could keep them for being so honest, or give them to the cleaning lady.

The beds were super comfy, the linens were lovely and functional, and both the room and bathroom were clean. All rooms are nonsmoking. Really nice place for the price, with super sweet staff.
