I had a terrible experience with the owner or manager, who seemed like a bit of a con artist. I came to book a bed in the 10-bed dorm listed online, but when I arrived, he wouldn’t offer that room. I showed him the listing for the date I’d arrived and the two nights I wanted. We’d been speaking English, then suddenly he said he didn’t understand it. I let him use my Google Translate, and he entered unclear phrases like “the room is cancelled” and “not this month.” I chose not to stay.

The hostel has a great atmosphere, and both staff and guests were friendly, relaxed, and helpful. There was live music almost all the time, with a fun party crowd each evening. The location and staff stand out. Just know that Valizas center gets noisy at night, and so does this hostel, so light sleepers looking for quiet might prefer somewhere outside the center. Cleanliness could be better, especially the bed sheets.

It’s cozy enough, and the location is right in the heart of the area, close to the beach and restaurants. The bathroom facilities and staff, though, weren’t very impressive.
