We had a wonderful stay at the Mariemar and would come back for the people and their kind service alone. The staff were friendly and efficient, and we enjoyed the meals on offer as well as the free breakfasts. Our top-floor room had a spectacular ocean view. We looked at both room types: the lower rooms were $130 USD/night, and the upper bedrooms were $150 USD/night. In my opinion, the extra $20 is worth it for the quieter top room, the pristine view, and the bigger bathroom and bedroom.

We paid $120 USD, breakfast included, and felt it was definitely worth it. There was plenty to choose from: avocado, scrambled eggs and toast, plus butter, cheese, jams and fruit. Our room was spotless, well lit at night and had hot water. Those little balconies are lovely for sitting out with a view of the ocean. The location is unbeatable, right on the beach and just steps from the lighthouse. Everyone, from reception to the cooks and waiters, was incredibly attentive. After check-out they let us leave our bags so we could keep enjoying Cabo Polonio at our own pace. The hotel restaurant serves lunch and dinner, and guests get 10% off dinner.

The restaurant food was delicious, the breakfast impeccable, and everything was meticulously looked after. Rooms on the second floor feel as though they're right above the ocean, and the location and service are excellent. Water pressure at the bathroom sink and shower was minimal, though the toilet was fine. We had such a good time and the staff were so warm and friendly that they still deserve 5 stars :)
