Hampton by Hilton Montevideo Carrasco

The convenient location, just a couple of minutes from the airport, and the friendly, helpful staff initially put me in a good mood, even after a 48-hour flight from the other side of the globe. The restaurant was good, and breakfast was very good, but its schedule was unreliable. It opens at 7 in the morning. Some days the food was out ten minutes early, but on others it was ready well after 7, which could be a problem if you have a meeting. The rooms were nice and the beds comfortable, but the room wasn't cleaned during my stay. I left early for bird watching and returned in the late afternoon to find it hadn't been serviced. Then they knocked between 5 and 6, when I was getting ready for bed. On my last night, they called at 7:30 in the evening to ask if I needed service, just as I wanted to sleep before getting up early to look for birds. Very bad. I came away grumpy after the long trip, but the staff won me over within a minute. I wouldn't mind coming back, but I won't. What started as a good review has turned into a poor one.

The salmon was great, though the Chuvito wasn't the best. Service was excellent, and the room was spacious with great views. A one-day stay with a pool and restaurant on site was a very good experience. It's a three-minute drive to the airport!

The lake view is stunning, and there are chairs on the grass by the trees where you can relax. For $45, we had a lovely pool day with lunch included. You need to make a reservation. Service was excellent, and the smash burger was really tasty.

We needed to stay near the airport for a short visit, and this hotel worked out great. Roosevelt park is an easy walk and a nice spot to spend some time. The staff were super friendly. A very outgoing cat followed some tourists back to the hotel and became popular with everyone. It was pretty hilarious, and the staff handled the situation kindly and well.
