Caliu Earthship Ecolodge

The chefs, owners, and hosts were so warm and welcoming. My friends and I were staying down the road when we came across the Caliu restaurant, and we're glad we did. We loved the atmosphere, and the use of reused materials gives the space a distinctive, thoughtful feel. We ordered a lamb pot pie type dish and risotto, and both were delicious. If I'm in Uruguay again, I'll definitely return, hopefully to stay on the property next time :)

I loved this place so much! It was beautifully crafted, and I slept better than ever in my earth-built room. The bathrooms were amazing, and I loved the swimming pool and having the restaurant nearby. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely two-night family stay, and the kids were sad to leave the two sweet dogs. The place is special, and having a car is ideal. A beautiful, calm beach is just a five-minute drive away, great for the children. Even with temperatures at 95 degrees, our rooms stayed comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, and Jelen was so sweet and welcoming when she served it. We loved chatting with her, even though I still need to work on my Spanish! :) It was a nice break from Montevideo, and we'd happily stay longer.

Our rooms were immaculate, and we loved the food at the restaurant. The staff were attentive, welcoming, and lovely, making this our best stay in Uruguay. We can't recommend the hotel enough. Thank you, Jessica, Mauro, and Helen, for such a beautiful trip!
