Salinas del Almiron Resort & Spa Termal

The clean rooms and pleasant staff were good, but the food had little variety. The salads were mostly make-it-yourself, and there wasn’t much fruit beyond fruit salad. Tiles were coming loose in the pool. The massage was a joke: the woman didn’t seem to know how to give one, and for 50 minutes she basically rubbed lotion on me. At 9pm they blasted karaoke for two hours across the hotel. We could hear it in every bedroom and couldn’t talk at dinner, it was so loud. Even after we asked, they did nothing to turn it down. It’s a nice hotel, but it’s not a resort, and for what it costs they need to put more thought into the guest experience.

The pools were great, and that was about the only real highlight. I’d skip the massage. It was so light it felt like an overrated caress. Their activity planning was the worst part. They held karaoke by the main entrance in the evening and played it at full volume until 23:00. It carried through the whole hotel, so there was no sleeping through it. When we called the front desk and asked them to turn it down, they just said it would be over by 23:15. They showed absolutely no regard for guests who needed to sleep.

The food was below average, and the prices felt far too high. At those rates, I expected English brochures in the room explaining the services. The photos of the food presentation didn’t match what I saw at the hotel. Maybe something has changed.

I didn’t enjoy my stay; it really wasn’t the best experience. The rooms were way overpriced, and the meals were very average. It’s hard to see how the place earned such a high star rating.
