I found it easy and pleasant to get around on foot, since the area isn't very hilly. Restaurants, cafes, and takeaways are about a 5-10 minute walk away, and breakfast is available at the hotel for an extra charge. The staff were friendly and professional, always serving with a smile. Punta Trouville Hotel is in a quiet, residential-feeling area, with no noisy clubs or pubs. There are small bars and coffee shops within walking distance, as are the Rambla and the beach. I felt very safe walking around in the evening. My room was peaceful, spacious, and clean.

There was feces in the toilet and a huge cockroach when we arrived. We had to call reception twice, first to get the toilet cleaned and then about the cockroach. You'd expect a full refund and help arranging somewhere else to stay, as you would at any hotel, but they didn't seem to understand that. I'd stayed at this property several times before, but I can say for sure I'm never going back. See the photos for reference.

It's always my pick when I come to Montevideo. The stay is fairly priced, and everything is nearby. A bus to the old town runs along the side street. The rooms and service are great.

You can get a cooking option at this lovely hotel, about 200 meters from the coast. The service is good, and breakfast was healthy and excellent.

This was my first stay in Uruguay, a long way from home, and the staff made it easier. They're courteous, professional, and always ready to answer questions or clear up doubts. Ferrerigo, on the night shift, was especially fun to chat with and really helpful. The breakfast could be better.
