La Piedra Mística Hostel

Stopped in for a drink and a chivito. The service was slow, and there was an interesting show.

We had the worst experience we’ve ever had. They sent photos of one room, charged us for the most expensive one, then put us in a completely different room with no shower. To bathe, you had to sit on the toilet. The whole place was filthy, with stains on all the bed linens and towels, and mold all over the bar. They played music incredibly loudly until all hours, so we couldn’t rest. A complete disaster!

We went as a family to spend the start of the year near the sea, and the staff’s service was a wonderful surprise. Rodrigo and Pablo were always there when we needed something. We mostly used the rooms to rest and recharge between time at the beach, and enjoyed the pool and barbecue grills. I even got to try one of Pablo’s surfboards a few times. One day Rodrigo and some of the staff had a barbecue ready to share with everyone at the hostel, which gave us a chance to meet people from elsewhere. Incredible stay. We’d definitely come back. A terrible experience, avoid staying here. They didn’t honor the price we had booked through Booking and said the nightly rate would actually be double. They only told us after the cancellation period had expired, so we either had to accept it or lose all the money we’d already paid. Our room was bad and dirty, with old bunk beds and a badly equipped kitchen. The bathroom had a broken toilet seat and a door that wouldn’t close. And this was the most expensive room. Very disappointing. Sleeping in a tent would have been better. If you get the chance to stay there, I recommend that you don’t.
