Cosy and clean, with friendly people. Great for the price.

They provide towels and sheets, and the place feels spacious, pleasant, and very clean. It’s always open, so you can come and go without worrying. The location is especially convenient, three blocks from the bus terminal and two from the waterfront promenade. I’d recommend it and will definitely return 💓. I’m taking off a star for service because we had to wait a little for someone to appear at reception.

The hostel’s location is its strongest point, close to the bus terminal, beach, and Artigas Square. The service itself wasn’t bad, but the other problems outweighed it, and I wouldn’t return. I barely slept during my three days there. There weren’t clear house rules, so it was noisy late into the night and early morning. The shared spaces were also consistently unsanitary, with food scraps on the kitchen floor, a dirty, sticky tablecloth, and soap scum piling up in the showers. In our room, another guest acted as if they owned the place, leaving as many as three pairs of dirty shoes and socks around and keeping the air conditioning on until the room was freezing at 17°C. One staff member came into the room and didn’t say or do anything. It was obvious the guest had been there a while from the way they treated the staff. The hostel and its accommodations need a lot of improvement.

I was a bit unsure about staying in a hostel for the first time, but I’d recommend this one. The service isn’t exceptional, though they’re available if you need something. It has the amenities you need: bathrooms, changing rooms with hot showers, a full kitchen, and roomy living areas with TVs. Hygiene was great, and the linens were clean and white.
