Mar de Fondo Hostel

We still miss Choco! Mar de Fondo feels close to my heart. The hostel itself is really comfortable, and the breakfast and location were both great. What really made the stay special, though, was the staff's care and attention to detail.

The rooms were on the small, warm side, but they matched what was advertised. I liked the evening activities and the friendly staff, plus the social feel of the place. Meals had a nice family style, and breakfast was simple but a solid start to the day.

The location makes it easy to get to the beach, supermarkets, restaurants, and food stands, and the sunrise and sunset views are lovely. There are hammocks, a couch, and tables with chairs for hanging out, or you can just relax with a book. I found the staff really helpful and welcoming from the moment I arrived. Breakfast in the lobby was healthy, filling, and very good. You can also sign up for dinner at a good price. The food was always delicious, with something for everyone, and dinner was a nice chance to socialize. This is the best hostel I've ever visited. Don't miss it.

The terrace and rooftop are cozy, with plenty of hammocks, and good music plays throughout the day. The dorms and bathrooms were very clean, and every room has a window for fresh air at night. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and cooking a nice dinner for everyone each day gives the place a family feel. It had everything I'd want from a hostel. Definitely recommended!
