The only good parts were the breakfast and the location. I booked from December 30th to January 6th and was put in the worst room I’ve ever stayed in, for US$250 a night. It was tiny, like a shoe box, and my luggage barely fit. The bathroom was even worse: sitting on the toilet meant my feet went into the shower space. After I complained, they moved me to a “superior room.” It was bigger than the first one, at least with space for my luggage, and the bathroom was a little roomier. But there was no air conditioning for the whole stay. They kept saying a technician would come tomorrow, but that never happened. The pillows were disgustingly filthy, and the bed was never properly made.

I loved staying here and would come back. Uruguay gives me a creepy Stonecutters vibe, though. Look up how the Jay suits used Paraguay for slave labour for decades. It left a mark on these odd little countries.

It’s cozy and convenient, right next to the beach, with a parking lot and great air conditioning. The pool is warm, and there’s a good shower for after swimming. All the attendants are well trained and very sweet.

The staff are incredibly friendly, well trained, and speak several languages. Rooms are nice, though a little old, with a good bed and shower. Breakfast is excellent and served in a peaceful room. A cute hotel at a fair price.
