The historical setting is the only thing it has going for it. For the price, it’s very poor value, and at best I’d call it a two-star hotel.

There’s so much peace and quiet here, so I’d recommend it if that’s what you’re after. The place dates back to 1860 and is still operating, with seven patios and lots of rooms. It’s full of old things, from the rooms to the furniture, and there’s even the room where Gardel stayed. There’s no TV, but there is Wi-Fi, so a phone or tablet is enough. The more modern features are the water heater and air conditioning. I loved the calm and the history.

This is a historic site and a World Heritage Site, with a very old-fashioned look and lots of rooms and corridors. Room 32 is there too, where Carlos Gardel once stayed. It’s a really beautiful hotel.
