Ark Hotel

The pool area stood out to us: it looked clean, inviting, and well cared for, and seemed like a nice place to unwind after a full day exploring Bukhara. The rooms also appeared spacious, comfortable, and generously designed. The hotel grounds are exceptionally large, with a very open and well-maintained feel. It’s a little outside the Old Town, so the atmosphere seems pleasantly quiet while still being convenient to reach. We visited the Ark Hotel in Bukhara to take a closer look at the property, and it left a very positive impression. As travel experts for Central Asia, we recommend it.

The rooms and bathrooms are very old, and there was no hot water when we needed it. The breakfast spread wasn’t four-star, and nobody was available to help in the banquet area. The managers were rude, and the management was the worst. I was disappointed, to say the least, and feel I was taken in by the false ratings. Nothing about this hotel is four-star.

The room and bed were perfect, and I loved the sauna and pool. A special thanks to Mehroj and Muhammadsaloh for looking after us so well when we had a late train. They kept helping us right up until we left, even though we weren’t staying another night. We really appreciated it.

The location was great, but this was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. There were constant electricity problems, the water heater didn’t work, and the AC gave us trouble too. Reception didn’t respond or help despite multiple calls. The staff seemed poorly trained, and management was extremely rude. The rooms were terrible, with two single beds pushed together to look like a double, and an old, worn-out bathroom. Breakfast was just okay, with very little variety and nobody around to assist. There’s no elevator either. This is definitely not a four-star hotel. Don’t be fooled by the pretty reception area or misleading positive reviews.
