Kamolot Guesthouse - Hostel

Breakfast was simple but nice, porridge, bread and jam, plus some fruit. The host welcomed us warmly and had great energy, and the family-run feel was lovely. It's one of the cheapest places in Bukhara, so I can understand the basic setup, but the dorms at the back of the courtyard are modest, with wooden platform beds and thin mattresses. There are separate men's and women's dorms, though the bathrooms are shared by both. They weren't exactly dirty, but weren't very clean either, and the drainage needs attention so water flows properly. Two fans were all we had, no AC, which made the heat tough at times. The kitchen is very basic, just a gas stove, and there are some tables in the courtyard, though it didn't feel like a relaxing place to hang out. With some cleaning and better organization, the outdoor area could be cozy. The owner is kind and tries to help with whatever you need, but the prices seemed to change a bit, so confirm the amount before you settle in. If you only need a bed and are fine with limited comfort and communal space, it's a decent budget choice. For somewhere more comfortable and relaxing, I'd look elsewhere.
