Hotel Kavsar

The front desk guy works hard, is kind, and knows a lot about history, politics, and languages. The room was clean, and after we'd been walking around the city, the cleaning staff quickly cleaned it again. Breakfast was amazing, with everything you could want. I stayed several days, and the location is the best. RECOMMEND YOU TO STAY THIS HOTEL !!! FOR QUIET ROOM AND GOOD SERVICE ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

The staff were welcoming and helpful, and breakfast offered plenty of choices. We stayed two nights in a quiet, clean, spacious room with a comfortable bed. It's a beautiful hotel near the city center, an easy walk away, with shops and lots of restaurants around.

We'd reserved two days here, after a grueling seven-hour drive from Khiva, but the welcome was a mess. In the tiny reception area I explained in fluent English that we had a reservation. The young man listened for a minute, then asked whether I spoke English. He looked flustered, offered tea and told us to wait, then disappeared. A few moments later the phone rang and he hurried off to answer it as if it were urgent. After a short, mysterious call, he came back, said “let’s go,” and yanked our luggage by its telescoping handle. He dragged our bags several buildings down to the ASL Hotel. We never got the promised tea or the room we'd booked. That welcome felt about as refreshing as the drive.

I booked this hotel for its pleasant looking courtyard and good reviews, but when I arrived they moved me to another hotel a block away. The staff were polite, though they gave no clear reason. I know overbooking can happen, but other reviews make it seem like this is becoming common here. Book with caution.
