We had a safe spot for our bikes inside the courtyard, and the family were friendly, supportive, and well organised. The room was very clean. Breakfast cost extra, but it was a fair deal and delicious. Tea, water, and coffee were available free at all times. We’d strongly recommend staying here.

The hosts are lovely and helpful, and the place has real charm. I felt safe there, but a couple of things puzzled me: my room had no door and the washroom was shared. At one point, the host came straight into my room to give me a receipt. The people are great, though that part of the setup felt a little odd.

Everything is close by, about a 5-10 minute walk, since Hostel Payraviy is right in the city center. It’s clean and tidy, with a traditional, homely feel. The owner is very warm and helpful; his son speaks English and can assist by phone, and will come over to the hostel if needed. I’d definitely recommend Hostel Payraviy.

The host’s warm welcome made the stay even nicer, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. You’re close to the Ark of Bukhara, Poi Kalon, and the other main sights. Highly recommended!

The hostel was fine, the location was good, and the staff were great, but I didn’t feel comfortable there. There were so many rules: no washing clothes in the bathroom, the door closes at midnight, leaving a backpack after checkout costs money, and around ten more rules besides. I’ve been traveling for seven months and haven’t come across a hostel with this many rules before. It just wasn’t for me.
