Bobosh Boutique

We had a great stay and would absolutely recommend this boutique hotel in Bukhara. Mirsaid at reception was friendly and helpful, and answered all our questions about the city. It's on a quiet side street, only 2 minutes from the main tourist area around Labi Hovuz and steps from Toki Sarrafon, or Money Changers Dome. Each room is unique, and there are two lovely places to hang out: the compact indoor courtyard at Ground level and the rooftop. From up there, the Kalan Minaret looks wonderful, especially at night.

Bobosh is a friendly little boutique hotel with nicely decorated interiors, a clean room, and a good breakfast. It's in the heart of historic Bukhara, so the sights are easy to reach on foot. It works well for solo tourists. The bathroom is very small, though, and the floorboard in the room creaks.

It's tucked into an alley, but the main attractions are within walking distance. Getting to the train station takes around 30 minutes. Breakfast had a decent selection, and the receptionist spoke good English, which was a plus. I stayed only one night, and that was enough for me. The hotel has three floors and no elevator, so you'll need to carry your luggage or hope reception can help. My room was small, the bathroom even smaller, and a tiny window made it feel closed in. It also hadn't been cleaned properly: there were dry fruit shells under the carpet. I wouldn't stay again.

The guy at the desk took us to an overpriced restaurant, then offered us tea at the hotel and asked for 8 USD for it. That's ridiculous pricing for this country. I'd avoid the place as long as this Guy Wood is working at the hotel.
