Billuri Sitora Hotel

The breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful, but I wouldn't stay here again. The hotel isn't close to any sites. I was in Room 124, where the carpet was torn and frosted glass panels in the door meant there was no privacy. The room was also next to the smoking chairs. A blind or curtain on the door might help. Housekeeping didn't leave water on my second day.

Breakfast had plenty of choices. The rooms were comfortable, carpeted, and well appointed. I liked the inviting traditional feel, with an enclosed outdoor courtyard for coffee and rest. The hotel is quiet and away from traffic.

We spent four nights at this lovely family-run hotel and wished we could stay longer. The owner and his family made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to help. He speaks perfect English and gave us great tips for spending time in Samarkand and Tashkent. Our air-conditioned room was spacious, with a really comfortable bed, and breakfast was delicious, a great start to the day. The location worked well for us, with places to eat nearby and the main tourist attractions a short taxi ride away. We'd highly recommend staying here in Samarkand. Contact the owner about booking instead of going through an agency, as his quote is much more reasonable.

The best part was how much it felt like a family operation. When you're here, you feel like part of the family. The Billuri Sitora has old time flare alongside modern amenities, a great courtyard, and a quiet location set back from things. It's great value too. Samarkand is safe and very walkable, and the hotel is perfectly placed in the heart of it all. I wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else. My one gripe is breakfast, served only from 7:30-9:00, and it isn't worth getting up for.
