The rooms, pool, and food were all good, and the rafting club teambuilding itself was excellent. We enjoyed the kazan kabab the first time and the soup the second time, though the plov could have been better. The hotel looked abandoned from the road, but it's a nice enough place to spend the night, and there are trekking options outside. There isn't a walking area within the hotel grounds. Service was the recurring problem. We had told them ahead of time that we needed twin rooms, yet when our group arrived at 15:00, check-in took half an hour because reception struggled to sort out the rooms. As people from a travel agency, we were surprised by how disorganized it was. Dinner service was slow too, and most of our group had gone back to their rooms before dessert arrived. At the pool, Turborg beer was listed for 2.5usd, but they said it wasn't available and offered another beer for 5usd instead. After I pointed out that they knew 220 people were checking in, they sent someone to buy the Turborg. It took around 2 hours, so we couldn't have as much as we might have wanted. When we ordered wine, the glasses were dirty. I spotted the marks from 5meter away and asked whether the server couldn't see them. After that, I noticed the glasses were cleaned before being brought to us. The management needs to train the young waiters and reception staff. 2nd stay 2025 We liked the place on our first visit last year. The hotel itself is excellent, but the service had flaws, so I hoped it would improve over the year. It was just as bad, if not worse. I requested an inner-facing room before we arrived because rooms facing outside are terribly noisy. We got there at 1030pm and they ignored the request. There was no Internet, and the TV didn't work either. When I asked to move to a room facing inside, reception made the odd point that there was no TV. I asked why a TV mattered if it didn't work. They offered an hour in the sauna as a complement, though what I needed was an inner-facing room. I had 2 terrible nights and definitely won't return. At breakfast it was clear there were only a few guests, so they could have upgraded us to a room facing the inner yard. Instead, they insisted the Internet problem was the provider's fault. I was the one who suffered the inconvenience: I had paid for a chance to relax and sleep well.
The breakfasts were delicious, and the dishes from the menu that were available to order were good too. The staff were great, and I feel sorry for them because they seemed powerless to change management's policies. I have no complaints about the people working there. Still, I can't recommend this hotel for its location, service, or price. My daughter and I booked three nights and called several times to confirm how far it was from Lake Charvak, since we couldn't find a place closer. We're from another country, so we didn't know it was a "weekend" hotel in an empty lot, with no grocery store within 20 km. Nobody told us that it doesn't accept weekday stays either. On Monday, we were the only guests left. We found that out when we went to have dinner and the on-site restaurant doors were closed. We'd spent the day on excursions and had eaten nothing since breakfast. No one had warned us the restaurant would be shut or offered even a couple of sandwiches. I spent an hour trying and failing to find food delivery nearby, then went to the receptionist. The receptionist knew the other guests had left and said the restaurant was closed because that's what usually happens on weekdays. They told me the hotel's prices were lower than others nearby, that it wasn't their fault we were hungry because the chef had taken time off for family reasons, and that they could order food if we'd asked the receptionist ourselves. An hour later, food was delivered at our expense, and we had to pay the courier. There was no apology or compensation. The service doesn't deserve even one star. The towels were stained, the room curtain was burned through, the mattresses were hard-wearing, and the shower drain wasn't very good. There was no coffee in the restaurant, and the rest of the menu was largely unavailable. Housekeeping was absent too. The day after we arrived, they turned on the water and took out the trash, and that was all. This was the first time I'd experienced such disgusting customer service, despite the staff themselves being great.
We'd happily come back. It's a quiet, cozy mountain spot with beautiful nature around it, a good place to recharge away from city noise. The pool was warm and clean, and the food was fresh and delicious. I especially liked the Alfredo pasta, definitely worth a try. Prices for the hotel and food felt reasonable for the facilities and service.
The food was delicious, and they have a chef from Georgia who cooks really well. Everything was tidy and clean, including the rooms and towels, and the interior looked beautiful. The staff were very friendly, and the prices were reasonable. Simply WOW! God bless them with prosperity and grateful customers.
