Turon Khiva Boutique Hotel

It's a very good hotel. Since it's new, they're working really hard to make guests happy.

The worst part was the staff asking for my passports for registration, then using them to blackmail me. I've never had an experience like that. The hotel has plenty of other problems too. The staff seemed inexperienced, barely spoke English, and appeared to have no hotel industry experience. Breakfast was a joke, with almost nothing edible. The rooms were dirty, and when I told reception, they blamed me. They were noisy and uncomfortable, with a poorly thought-out layout, tiny sinks, and not even a spare roll of toilet paper. Noise from reception carried straight into the rooms because the two floors open onto one hall. Absolutely horrible. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

The service was a highlight. This family-run place has a small staff who helped with transport, arranged a desert excursion, recommended restaurants, and served us breakfast when it suited our schedule, even at 5am before our flight. We were a family of three and stayed three nights in early June, choosing two rooms because the price was so low. The hotel is a fairly recent conversion of a large family home, and everything worked, including the wifi. It was sparkling clean, with small but beautifully appointed bathrooms, temperature-adjustable bidets, and immaculate finishes. The setting inside the fort is magical, close to restaurants, minarets, markets, and ATMs. If we get back to Khiva, we'd stay here again. Payment is in cash, either USD or Som.

The location made exploring easy, with the old town and major attractions close by on foot. It was peaceful at the hotel, a nice place to unwind after a day out. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out, with a cozy feel, an extremely comfortable bed, and everything I needed. The staff welcomed me warmly from the moment I arrived, and their attention to detail made the stay feel special. Hotel Thuron blends traditional architecture and the city's history with modern comfort. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh local choices and a real taste of Uzbek cuisine. My stay exceeded my expectations, and I'd happily return or recommend it to anyone visiting Khiva.
