This place has the feel of staying with a warm local Uzbek family 🤗. The owner looks after everything and gives advice about the city, food, and whatever else you need to know. Check-in is available around the clock, but payment is cash only 💵. It's close to the city center, and taxis from the bus or train station are easy to get and inexpensive. I didn't use public transport much. The rooms are clean and spacious, and laundry service is available 🧺. The dorm is mixed, for men and women. Cat lovers will be happy here 🐱, since the owner loves cats and you can enjoy their company. If you arrive late and need food, there are lots of options open until midnight 🌙🍴. The area felt very safe, and I walked alone on my first day without any trouble 🚶♂️✨. There are a few street dogs outside 🐕, but they're friendly. Just don't get too friendly with them 😜.

A short taxi ride gets you to Registan and Gur‑Emir, and Colibri Traditional Hotel is a lovely place to return to. The family-run guest house has comfy beds, thoughtful amenities, and is impeccably clean. Rooms away from the courtyard are quieter. Wi-Fi is usually decent, though it sometimes drops out, especially in the dorms, and staff may not always be available outside usual hours. Abduaziz and his family go out of their way for guests, from arranging vegetarian meals to sharing local tips. Mornings bring homemade jams, fresh tea, and traditional dishes served under grape and cherry vines, one of the best breakfasts in Samarkand. The courtyard is lovely, with tasteful design and warm Uzbek hospitality. It's good value for solo travelers, couples, and budget-conscious visitors. Highl recommended if you want a cozy, personal stay just outside Samarkand's busy center.

I really liked how the host treated us, and breakfast was great. The dorm and bathroom were clean, and there was always hot water. The bed wasn't comfortable, though, with springs sticking out. There's no locker in the room, but you can leave valuables with the host. No bed light either.

The staff made my stay at the "Colibri Traditional" Hotel special. The administrator was welcoming and helpful, and the manager was both kind and professional, keeping things running smoothly. I felt right at home thanks to that mix of warmth and efficiency. Great job, Colibri Traditional. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly, well-managed place.
