Ikan Registan Hotel

Despite the staff’s good intentions, running a hotel professionally is a different matter. My room was quite large and clean, but I couldn’t get Wi-Fi in it at all during my three days there. That alone should have earned me some real discount. Breakfast, called a buffet, was minimal and poor in taste. Before my check-in was even finished, they asked if I wanted to cancel my Booking reservation and book directly with them for a discount. That felt unfair and unprofessional. I also don’t know why they failed to arrange a shuttle taxi from the train station, when all the other hotels in Uzbekistan had done so during my trip. The hotel seems to have potential to be much better than it is. I regret to say this was the worst hotel experience I had in Uzbekistan and one of the worst in the world. “How to not run a hotel” would be the title. Not recommended.

The accommodation was comfortable and very nice, and everyone was hospitable. The man who greeted us at reception was kind, and the rooms were neat and clean. The cleaning lady kept checking whether we needed anything. My rating is lower because we were charged tourist tax even though it was listed as included in the price. Also, breakfast was very poor and had little choice on two of the days.

We stayed at Art Luxury Hotel in the second week of Jun '22, and the atmosphere was so friendly. The breakfast was good, and the service felt like five stars while still feeling like home. All the staff were very helpful, especially Malik, Bekhzod, and Daler. Malik and Daler spoke English fluently. I recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Really good value for the money. I’ve stayed at this hotel three times. Restaurant Samarkand nearby is a great spot for lunch.
