Kohinur Plaza Hotel

The room was clean and ready when we arrived, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance of major sights, including siob bazaar, Bibi Khnayum Mosque, Shah-i-Zande, and others. Highly recommended.

The courtyard pool was a hit with the kids, and we grabbed something to eat while they swam. Our room had plenty of space, with a separate main bedroom, beds set up for the children, and two balconies facing the pool. We could walk quickly to the main attractions from Kohinur Plaza.

The hotel and rooms were nice, and the front desk staff were helpful and friendly. I’d stay there again for that, but the spa experience was really disappointing. I booked the minimum option, a one-hour massage at 9 pm, because my train left at 10:30. We arrived 15 minutes early. The man at reception laughed at us for being early and offered the hamam, which we didn’t want, so we waited inside. They took us to the rooms, but nobody came by 9:10. When I checked, the woman was busy with someone else. She came to my room at 9:17 after he called her out. She seemed rushed and didn’t use any pressure, even though I’d paid for a strong massage. At 46 minutes she stopped the clock and told me to shower. I said it was meant to be an hour, but she disagreed and left. I asked at reception, and he apologized, saying she thought I’d booked 45 minutes. He offered to refund 80 thousand. I explained that the difference was 115 thousand and I hadn’t wanted a 45-minute session. He said sorry, there was nothing he could do. I’d been looking forward to the massage all day. I’d definitely avoid the spa staff.

The spa and massage were great, and the staff were professional and well trained. The hotel is super clean, with lovely rooms and attention to detail throughout. What a gem in Samarkand. It really felt like a five-star place, and everything was perfect!
