Nippon Guest house

The location is great, and the rooms are spacious. Shoes aren’t allowed, which is fine for Japanese guests. The rooms are spacious, shoes are strictly forbidden, which is fine for Japanese people. But despite “NIPPON” being written on the wall, when the owner was away there was nobody who could understand Japanese or English. The owner is kind at heart, but communication was extremely difficult. Without Google Translate, explaining anything would have been impossible without pictures. The owner was supposedly fluent in Japanese, but she wasn’t there. The female manager spoke no Japanese, English, or Russian, so communication depended on Google Translate. I left my laundry with her, but got it back damp, in a bag and unfolded, and had to hang it up myself. I’m a bit lazy, though it dries quickly if I do it early in the morning. There was no kettle in the room, so I asked for hot water. It took over 30 minutes. I went to check and ended up getting hot water from the manager’s water heater in his room. Even that required Google Translate. When I went for hot water in the morning, I was met with a very sullen face. I’ve never heard of a hotel manager waking up later than the guests. I wish they had someone who could at least speak basic English.

Fast Wi-Fi, a roomy and comfortable bathroom, and staff who speak English and Japanese. The hotel is new, clean, and well looked after, in a great location.

The hosts are so welcoming, and the rooms are clean. I’d love to come back. There’s also a pleasant courtyard where you can relax, and the location is excellent.

I woke up and was startled by the smell coming from the room.
